Houston native, Rene Rodriguez Jr., also known as Junior, was practically born with a sledgehammer in his hand. He is the product of a long line of highly skilled construction workers, so it is no surprise that he followed in the footsteps of his father and grandfather in commercial and recreational construction. With the support of his wife early on in his career, he worked full time during the day and attended trade school at night to give him the knowledge he needed to reach his then goal of growing from a Construction Laborer to a Superintendent. Over time and through his hard work, dedication and skills he was promoted up to General Superintendent for a well known Houston area contractor. Working from the bottom up allowed him to perfect his skills in concrete hardscape, learn hands on about the processes and procedures needed to be successful and how to manage people to build a loyal construction crew.
Inspired by his passion for his craft and motivated by his desire to leave a legacy for his children, in 2010 Rene embarked on a new journey as an entrepreneur by establishing RNB Construction, Inc. His reputation within the industry proved to be his greatest asset as many in his loyal construction crew took the leap of faith with him in joining his startup business, and the calls from potential clients quickly rolled in. Seven years later, RNB Construction has seen rapid growth with a 30% increase in revenue from 2014 to 2015 and 40% increase in revenue from 2015 to 2016. Today RNB Construction is a true minority owned, family operated business.
Our mission is to construct and maintain high quality commercial and recreational concrete hardscape by bringing an organized, process oriented perspective to the industry. We use technology to better manage projects which streamlines processes to reduce costs and increase efficiency so that we may pass cost savings on to our clients for the best overall value. Our vision is to impact communities through our work and by developing an employee culture of belonging, ownership and giving back.
Our owner and 2 main superintendents bring to the table over 86+ years of experience. They have passed along their knowledge to our loyal labor force of which 50% have been with us from the inception of this company and 33% are family. Low employee turnover is a strength as it helps us provide a consistent product to our clients. We understand the importance of communication, staying in budget and the need to complete jobs on time. Our office staff act as the liaisons between the field and our clients, they are dedicated to supporting projects from start to finish through project management and accounting. For these reasons, we are known to complete projects on time and deliver a superior product.
